Crossroads & Prosperity Ritual

A connected road-opening and abundance practice

A connected working for listening honestly at a crossroads, recognizing your response to two possible paths, and welcoming the forms of abundance you want to build on whichever road you choose.

  • Two-path decisions
  • Road-opening reflection
  • Calling in broad abundance
  • Turning insight into movement

45–90 minutes, plus ongoing bowl tending

  • Fire-safe plate or dish; Open Roads candle
  • Black Himalayan Salt
  • Paper and pen; Courage & Becoming Oil (optional)
  • Prosperity bowl; bay leaves
  • Cinnamon, calendula, orange peel, rosemary
  • Coin, token, stone, or written intention (optional)

Working Focus

  • Crossroads: clarity, choice, movement
  • Prosperity bowl: opportunity, peace, stability, belonging
  1. Clear the space. Cleanse or settle the working area. A lavender smoke bundle may be used if smoke is appropriate and safe. Take a few slow breaths before beginning.
  2. Build the crossroads. On a fire-safe plate or dish, use Black Himalayan Salt to create a large plus sign forming four roads that meet in the center.
  3. Name two possibilities. Write one possibility at the top and bottom ends of the vertical road. Write the other at the left and right ends of the horizontal road. Repeating each choice on opposite ends makes each possibility a complete road through the center.
  4. Place the candle directly in the center where the roads meet. If desired, lightly dress the unlit candle with a small amount of Courage & Becoming Ritual Oil.

Crossroads & Prosperity Ritual

The crossroads portion creates a quiet structure for noticing your own response to two possible paths. The candle and wax are reflective prompts, not commands. The prosperity bowl then shifts the working from choosing a road to naming what you want that road to support: meaningful work, a stable home, peace, love, confidence, community, opportunity, purpose, belonging, or enough.

This is a modern reflective divination and abundance practice. Candle movement can be shaped by wick position, wax, airflow, candle construction, and the surface. The working does not claim that wax predicts the future; it uses observation, symbolism, and emotional honesty to support practical next steps.

  • Use an LED candle when open flame is not suitable; observe your written choices and reactions instead of wax.
  • Skip smoke entirely or open a window briefly when that is safer for your household.
  • Use any contained, meaningful bowl and substitute personally relevant abundance symbols.
  • Pause between the crossroads and prosperity portions, or complete them on separate days.
  • Use a proper holder or fire-safe surface and never leave a candle unattended.
  • Keep loose botanicals away from flame; never add oil to a lit candle.
  • Use smoke only with ventilation and when respiratory needs, pets, and household circumstances allow.
  • Do not ingest ritual-grade herbs unless specifically labeled for food use.
  • Keep salt contained; it can damage plants and some surfaces.
  • Which road did I hope the wax would choose?
  • What feeling arose when one path seemed favored?
  • What form of abundance am I ready to recognize and support?

Crossroads & Prosperity Ritual

The Ritual — Continued

  1. Set the intention: “I stand where many roads meet. What is closed, let it release. What is mine, let it open. What leads toward peace, purpose, abundance, and becoming, help me recognize the road when it appears.”
  2. Light the candle safely and observe the wax. Notice whether it repeatedly moves toward one road, gathers somewhere, changes direction, or appears to avoid a path.
  3. Watch your reaction, not just the wax. If a result brings sadness, disappointment, relief, excitement, or fear, ask: “Am I saddened by this road, or frightened because this road would change me?” Then ask: “If I knew I could not fail, which road would I hope the wax chose?” There does not have to be an immediate answer.
  4. Close safely. Extinguish the candle if it has not burned down completely. Return to the remaining Open Roads candles later when movement, courage, or clarity is needed.
  5. Place the prosperity bowl in front of you and name abundance broadly: meaningful work, a stable home, financial security, peace, love, confidence, community, opportunity, happiness, purpose, belonging, or a life that feels full.
  6. Write one form of abundance on each bay leaf. Add cinnamon for prosperity and momentum, calendula for confidence and favorable beginnings, orange peel for joy and opportunity, and rosemary for clarity and protection.
  7. Add a coin, written intention, small stone, or another personally meaningful symbol if desired.
  8. Hold the bowl and say: “The road before me does not need to be perfectly known. I make room for what nourishes me. I welcome meaningful work, peaceful places, loving connections, stability, opportunity, and enough. May the roads that lead toward my abundance open. May I have the courage to recognize them, and the courage to walk when they do.”
  9. Keep the bowl somewhere visible. Return to it when an opportunity arrives, a decision is made, an application is submitted, a move is explored, or another meaningful step is taken. Add a coin, intention, or stone, or simply acknowledge the movement. Let its meaning change as your definition of prosperity changes.
