RITUAL 1 — A TEN-MINUTE SAMHAIN THRESHOLD RITUAL
----------------------------------------------------------------------
YOU NEED:
- one candle or LED candle;
- a piece of paper;
- pen;
- small bowl.
STEPS:
1. Sit somewhere quiet near sunset or in the evening.
2. Light the candle safely.
3. Divide the paper into two headings:
ENDED
CARRY FORWARD
4. Under ENDED, write what has completed its season.
5. Under CARRY FORWARD, write what you want to protect, remember, or nurture through winter.
6. Tear off the ENDED half and place it in the bowl.
7. Do not burn it unless you have a genuinely fire-safe setup. Tearing is enough.
8. Read the CARRY FORWARD list aloud.
9. Say:
“I honor what has ended.
I protect what remains.
I enter the darker season with intention.”
10. Extinguish the candle.

RITUAL 2 — REMEMBRANCE CANDLE
----------------------------------------------------------------------
YOU NEED:
- one candle or LED candle;
- photograph, name, heirloom, or written memory;
- optional favorite food or drink.
STEPS:
1. Place the remembrance object in front of you.
2. Light the candle.
3. Speak the person’s name if that feels right.
4. Tell one story.
5. Name one thing you received from them: a lesson, recipe, habit, warning, skill, joke, strength, or memory.
6. If the relationship was complicated, you may instead say:
“I acknowledge what came before me. I keep what is useful. I release what should not continue.”
7. Sit quietly for a few minutes.
8. Close the practice intentionally and extinguish the candle.

RITUAL 3 — PROTECT THE HOME FOR WINTER
----------------------------------------------------------------------
YOU NEED:
- ordinary cleaning supplies;
- optional rosemary;
- bowl of plain water;
- candle / LED candle.
STEPS:
1. Physically clean the front entrance.
2. Check the lock, porch light, and any practical safety needs.
3. If using rosemary, place a small amount in a bowl or use it in a safe symbolic manner. Do not scatter material outdoors where pets or wildlife may ingest it.
4. Place the water near the entrance.
5. Light the candle.
6. Say:
“May this home be warm.
May this home be peaceful.
May this home be protected.
May what enters here come in goodwill.”
7. Touch a fingertip to the water and mark the inside threshold only if the surface will not be damaged.
8. Extinguish the candle and dispose of plant material responsibly.
