Forgiveness of Self

Daily Affirmation & Journal Prompts

Self-forgiveness can hold accountability and compassion at the same time. It does not require denying harm, avoiding repair, or pretending a choice had no consequences; it asks whether endless punishment is helping you act differently now. This worksheet helps separate responsibility from shame and consider what learning, apology, repair, or changed behavior would make forgiveness meaningful.

Write one thing you regret, then separate what cannot be changed from what remains possible.

I release guilt and shame with love.
  1. 1

What mistakes or choices from my past am I still holding against myself?

  2. 2

Where did I learn that I had to be perfect or that mistakes made me unworthy?

  3. 3

How has self-criticism or guilt kept me stuck in the past?

  4. 4

What would I say to a loved one who made the same mistakes I did?

  5. 5

What is one way I can practice forgiving myself a little more today?

What is one moment today where I can choose compassion over self-judgment?
