People-Pleasing
Honoring others without abandoning yourself.
People-pleasing is a pattern of prioritizing other people's approval, comfort, wants, or needs at the expense of one's own well-being, boundaries, or authenticity. Kindness and compromise are not inherently people-pleasing. The shadow-work question is whether helping feels freely chosen or driven by fear of conflict, rejection, disapproval, guilt, or the belief that one must earn belonging.
