About Black Cat Curiosity Co.

For the curious, the rebellious, and those still becoming.

Black Cat Curiosity Co. began with a simple belief:

Knowledge should be shared, not guarded.

Witchcraft, Paganism, folk practices, herbal traditions, divination, and spiritual exploration can feel overwhelming when you're first finding your way. There is so much to learn—and unfortunately, there are also plenty of voices willing to tell you that you're doing it wrong.

We remember what it was like to be new.

We remember searching for answers, piecing together information from wherever we could find it, questioning which sources we could trust, and wishing there were more people willing to simply teach without judging.

So we decided to become the people we wish we'd had.

Our Manifesto

We believe curiosity should be encouraged.

We believe questions deserve answers—not ridicule.

We believe knowledge grows stronger when it is shared.

We believe there is no single correct way to practice witchcraft or walk a Pagan path.

We believe traditions deserve respect, history deserves honesty, and closed practices and cultures deserve boundaries.

We believe spirituality can evolve without pretending history says something it doesn't.

We believe beginners belong here.

We believe experienced practitioners can still learn something new.

We believe you do not need an expensive altar, an enormous collection of tools, or a perfectly curated witchy life to practice your craft.

We believe magic can live in gardens, kitchens, bookshelves, tiny apartments, handmade tools, inherited traditions, quiet rituals, and ordinary moments.

We believe the craft should be accessible to everyone who approaches it with curiosity and respect.

And above all:

We believe knowledge should be shared freely enough that the next person doesn't have to struggle to find what we once struggled to learn.

Why Black Cat Exists

Black Cat Curiosity Co. began as a small Pagan-owned business creating handmade tools and supplies for people building practices of their own.

But somewhere along the way, we realized we wanted Black Cat to be more than a place where people found things for their practice.

We wanted to build the resource we wished existed when we were learning.

And for a long time, one of the ways we did that was live.

For more than a year, we went live on WhatNot two nights every week for Moon Magick Monday and Witchy Wednesdays. Those nights became a place to learn together—not just to talk about witchcraft, but to experience it.

We shared what we knew, answered questions, explored different practices and traditions, and created interactive ritual experiences people could participate in with us. Sometimes we taught. Sometimes we experimented together. Sometimes a question sent the entire conversation somewhere we hadn't planned to go.

That was part of what made it special.

Eventually, life became too busy to keep promising that we would be in the same place at the same time, two nights every single week.

But we didn't want becoming busier to mean we stopped sharing.

So the way we share is evolving.

We created our educational Pinterest content to put useful information where curious people were already searching for it.

We created The Curious Witch Society so people could ask questions, share experiences, learn from one another, and find community without fear of being mocked for what they didn't know.

And now we're building Blackcatcuriosityco.com and the Black Cat Grimoire as a permanent home for everything we've spent years learning, teaching, discussing, researching, and continuing to discover.

Moving more of that knowledge here gives us something the old live schedule couldn't: flexibility.

We can research when there is time to research. Write when there is time to write. Add something new when we discover something worth sharing. And continue teaching without needing everyone—including us—to be available at exactly the same moment.

The live streams may have ended, but the reason we started them didn't.

We still want to be the teachers we wish we'd had when we were learning.

Knowledge Shared Freely

The Black Cat Grimoire is being built as a growing library of information covering herbs and minerals, crystals and gemstones, deities, shadow work, witchcraft lessons, lunar practices, folklore, correspondences, and more.

Some of that knowledge may lead you to something we make.

Much of it won't.

That's okay.

Because the point is the knowledge itself.

A question answered.

A tradition understood a little better.

A piece of history separated from something the internet has repeated so many times that everyone assumes it's true.

A new practitioner finding the words they needed to keep exploring.

Or an experienced practitioner stumbling across something that sends them down an entirely new rabbit hole.

That's what we want this place to be.

Not a finished encyclopedia declaring that we've figured everything out.

A living Grimoire—one that keeps growing as we do.

And when we learn better, we can make it better.

There Is Room at the Table

Witchcraft has never belonged to one aesthetic, one tradition, one generation, one gender, one type of person, or one way of believing.

You may be Pagan.

You may be a witch.

You may follow a deity.

You may follow many.

You may practice quietly and privately.

You may simply be curious.

You may not even know what you believe yet.

You are still allowed to learn.

We will never know everything. Neither will anyone else.

What we can do is keep asking questions, respect the traditions and people those answers come from, correct ourselves when we learn better, and leave a clearer trail for whoever comes looking next.

Keep Wondering.

Ask the question.

Read the old stories.

Grow the herb.

Study the history.

Question the claim.

Write in the margins.

Change your mind when you learn something new.

Share what you discover.

And never let anyone convince you that being new means you don't belong.

We were all beginners once.

Black Cat Curiosity Co.

Knowledge shared freely. Curiosity always welcome.
