RITUAL 1 — THE LONGEST NIGHT
You need: one candle or LED candle; a quiet room; paper and pen.

1. Sit in dim light for several minutes.
2. Write: WHAT HAS FELT DARK?
3. Name what has been difficult without trying to make it positive.
4. Light the candle.
5. Write: WHAT LIGHT IS RETURNING?
6. List even small signs: an idea, support, rest, boundary, plan, friendship, resource, or possibility.
7. Say:
“Darkness has its season.
Light returns in increments.
I do not need to rush the dawn.”
8. Close by extinguishing the candle or leaving the LED candle on for a chosen period.

RITUAL 2 — EVERGREEN ENDURANCE BLESSING
You need: one safe sprig of locally appropriate evergreen; ribbon/twine optional; candle optional.

1. Hold the evergreen.
2. Notice that it remains green during winter.
3. Name three things you want to sustain rather than expand.
4. Say:
“I do not have to bloom in every season.
Let what is worth keeping remain alive.”
5. Place the evergreen somewhere safe indoors.
6. Compost or dispose of it responsibly when the season ends.

RITUAL 3 — RETURNING-LIGHT HOME BLESSING
You need: ordinary cleaning supplies; one candle/LED candle; optional bowl of water; optional rosemary.

1. Physically clean the room or entrance.
2. Turn off the main lights.
3. Sit briefly in darkness.
4. Light the candle or LED candle.
5. If using water, place it near the entrance.
6. If using rosemary, use only a safe symbolic amount.
7. Say:
“May there be enough warmth here.
May there be enough rest here.
May there be enough light to find our way.
May this home carry us through winter.”
8. Turn on the room lights.
9. Dispose of plant material responsibly.
