Setting Healthy Boundaries

Daily Affirmation & Journal Prompts

Overview

A boundary identifies what you need, what you will participate in, and what action you can take when a limit is crossed. Healthy boundaries are not one-size-fits-all, and they do not require controlling another person’s response. This worksheet helps you notice where your words and actions are out of step with your needs and consider a limit that is clear, realistic, and safe for your situation.

Intention

I honor my needs and set loving boundaries that protect my energy, peace, and well-being. It is safe for me to choose myself.

Daily Affirmation

I honor my needs and set loving boundaries that protect my energy, peace, and well-being. It is safe for me to choose myself.

Guided Journal Prompts

  1. Where in my life do I struggle to say ‘no’ or express my true needs?
  2. What beliefs do I hold about myself that make it hard to set boundaries?
  3. How do I feel in my body when I agree to something I really don’t want to do?
  4. What kinds of relationships or situations consistently drain my energy?
  5. What would change in my life if I trusted that I deserve respect, even when I set boundaries?

Reflection of the Day

What boundary, no matter how small, could I honor tomorrow that would create more peace in my life?

Practical Integration

Select one low-risk situation and write the boundary in plain language: what you need, what you are asking, and what you can do if the limit is not respected. You may practice the words privately before deciding whether, when, or how to communicate them.

Gentle Caution

Direct boundary-setting is not always safe or practical. If a relationship involves coercion, threats, or abuse, prioritize safety and appropriate support rather than confrontation.
